Windmill and electric aeration both deliver bottom-up oxygen, but they suit very different sites. Here’s how to decide.
Windmill aeration
Wind-powered, so it needs no electricity, ideal for remote dugouts and off-grid ponds. It’s durable and costs nothing to run, with the trade-off that output depends on the wind.
Electric aeration
Where grid power is available, electric compressors run continuously for the most consistent output, the better choice for larger, deeper ponds and for aquaculture that needs round-the-clock oxygen.

- Grid power and want 24/7 output? Electric.
- Very large water body? Sometimes both, an electric system with a windmill as backup.
