About Koenders

Engineering aeration since 1988.

Koenders Water Solutions Inc. is a North American manufacturer that pioneered the farm-dugout windmill aerator. Since 1988 we have engineered aeration for water bodies of every size, from a remote dugout to a municipal lagoon.

Who we are

Oxygen where the power lines do not reach

Koenders Water Solutions Inc. is a manufacturer that has been building aeration systems since 1988. We began on the Saskatchewan prairie by pioneering the farm-dugout windmill aerator, a way to move and oxygenate water using nothing but the wind.

That founding idea still defines us: give water the oxygen it needs and nature does the rest, with no harsh chemicals required. Today we build windmill, solar and electric systems that scale from a backyard koi pond to a municipal wastewater lagoon.

From remote acreages to public works departments, operators across North America rely on our equipment to keep water healthy, reliably, even where running power is not an option. Every system we ship is designed and manufactured in North America, then supported by a team that would rather size it right than oversell it.

How it works

Oxygen from the bottom up

Most water problems start at the bottom, where oxygen runs lowest and organic matter settles. Koenders aeration delivers air low in the water body, so the rising column lifts low-oxygen water, circulates the whole pond and oxygenates it from the bottom up. Match it to wind, solar or electric power, and the same natural approach works from a remote dugout to a municipal lagoon, with no harsh chemicals.

Air delivered near the bottom
Aeration adds air deep in the water body rather than only disturbing the surface. That lifts oxygen into the layers where it usually runs lowest.
Circulation reaches the bottom
Moving water from the bottom up carries oxygen into the deeper zones where it tends to be scarcest. Better circulation keeps the whole column working, not just the top few feet.
No power line required
Wind and solar systems run on the energy already at the site, so there is no need to trench in electricity. That makes remote dugouts and off-grid ponds practical to aerate.
Scales from koi pond to lagoon
The same bottom-up aeration principle applies whether the water is a backyard koi pond or a municipal lagoon. You match the system to the site rather than changing the method.

Why Koenders

Engineered for the real world

What operators tell us matters most, and what we design for.

No power line required

Windmill aeration runs on wind alone, ideal for remote dugouts, back pastures and off-grid sites where running power is impractical or expensive.

Wind, solar or electric

Match the power source to the site. When the grid is close, electric delivers constant output; when it is not, wind and solar keep oxygen moving off-grid.

Scales with the water

The same proven approach works from a small koi pond to a large municipal lagoon. Size the system to the water, not the other way around.

No harsh chemicals, by design

Aeration is a mechanical, natural process. It improves water quality without adding harsh chemicals, helping keep water safe for fish, livestock and wildlife.

We build equipment for people who cannot afford for it to fail, on remote sites, in hard winters, on water that matters. That is the standard behind every system.
